About the Author
Swain Wodening has been a part of the Asatru movement for nearly 30 years. He has been a member of the Troth, the Asatru Folk Assembly, and currently White Marsh Theod, an organization dedicated to the reconstruction of Anglo-Saxon paganism. He has written numerous magazine articles for IDUNNA, THEOD, EALDRIHT BOC, and ASATRU TODAY.

Interesting book. Some old stuff and new twists on old stuff. The author discusses some forms of the old ways in more detail than other contemporary authors. Worth the read.

Good for beginners, but others will find little of value

"Germanic Magic" is fine in its way, but in my opinion, it fails to be outstanding because it does not seem to add anything to the discussion of Germanic magic. I can't find anything within it that isn't covered in a half-dozen other books or websites (including the author's own). Certainly if "Germanic Magic" is to be your first exposure to the subject, there is nothing within it that is particularly *bad*. A beginner can by all means buy it and do well for herself. The problem is that there is nothing within it that's particularly outstanding, and if you have already read a few other reputable books on the subject, and/or have done extensive research on the web, you might be disappointed that there wasn't more original work to be found. But as I say, there's nothing inherently wrong with it, either.

Swain Wodening's book is a fabulous compendium of information on runes, spa also called sidhr, and rune galdoring. It is a must have for anyone interested in the use of any of the above. Loved the book!!!

About the Author
Jeffrey Wolf Green has been called the founder of Evolutionary Astrology, and rightly so. He began to lecture on Evolutionary Astrology in 1977, and wrote this first book called Pluto: The Evolutionary Journey Of The Soul in 1985. He has lectured all around the world, and this book has been translated in eight languages. The Evolutionary Astrology that he taught is a pioneering work that allows for a complete understanding of the Souls evolutionary journey from life to life. He established schools in Chile, Israel, England, Holland, Canada, America, and Germany. He also created a video correspondence course in 1994, and wrote the second volume to this work in 1996 called Pluto: The Soul's Evolutionary Journey Through Relationships. His daughter, Deva Green, also edited a book of his unpublished lectures called The Evolutionary Journey Of The Soul: Essays in Evolutionary Astrology in 2011.

Excellent read. One of the few contemporary social theorists and astrologers with unique ideas and deep knowledge. I read this to fill in the cracks after all other astrology books leave me wanting and I am not disappointed.

The price of scorn

Wow! Who would've ever thought to feel sorry for a woman so mean and evil that you just wanted to hit her! Or that something bad would happen to her because of how bad and mean she was!! Then just when you really hate her you find out what happened to make her the way she was and omg! You feel so sorry for her and come to understand even if you can't condone her actions you see why she is the way she is! This book was extremely well written and emotionally up and down ! Excellent writing!! I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review!! I heartily recommend this book to everyone ! The whole series is awesome ! But this book deserves 10 stars!! Kae Elle Wheeler this one is just so good I don't even have the words to describe how awesome it was!!

What lies within is intriguing

I have not YET read the previous books in this series, but after picking up this one on a whim, I definitely will!

The concept of what lay beneath the Evil Stepmother's vile exterior was intriguing. We tend to judge people by their actions, without pausing to consider what made them that way.

Kudos to Ms. Wheeler for her imagination and her skill at crafting a tale that takes us beyond the Cinderella story. A remarkable read.

Fourteen years after Prince Charming and Cinderella are crowned as Chalmers King and Queen, Cinderella, Pricilla and Esmeralda gather at their mother's deathbed.
Lady Hildegard Roche has nothing but resentment and scorn for the stepchild who culminates all that was stolen from her. Stunned silent, the sisters learn how tragedy shaped their mother into the woman she became. The question is: Can the sisters forgive her?

I have read the stories of the Princesses: Cinderella, Pricilla and Esmeralda. I never dreamed that there would be a story about their mom and step mama (the evil one). Didn't see that one coming and when it did, I wanted to read it! Wow. What a story. How much abuse and loss can one woman stand? It really tugged at the emotions. Twists and turns kept happening, none of them working in a good way for Hilda. More than once she wished for death. Betrayal every where she turned; it caused her to harden her heart; and become the unpleasant woman that she became. She didn't start out that way, but her father was the first one to treat her harshly and cruelly without any mercy. Yes, I did cry a few tears over this story. I guess you could call it a Dark Fairytale. One that caused Cinderella, Priclla and Esmeralda to come to an understanding of their own pain that she caused them. With understanding and compassion came some peace.
